John W. Morris, Jr.

December 18, 1946 — May 3, 2024

John W. "Jack" Morris Jr., beloved husband, father, brother, and mentor, passed away on May 3, 2024. Born December 8, 1946, in St. Louis, Missouri, Jack was the son of John W. Morris and Uldine (Bussone) Morris, both of whom preceded him in death. He is survived by his devoted wife, Joan E. (Westgerdes) Morris, and his loving children, John W. Morris III (Paula) and Scott Morris (Michele), as well as step-daughter Lynn Baldock and granddaughters Ellie & Shelby Trusty.

Jack dedicated much of his life to serving his country as a pilot in the United States Air Force, bravely serving in the Vietnam War. After retiring from active duty, he continued to share his passion for aviation as a teacher in the Air Force ROTC program at Stebbins High School in Dayton, Ohio, where he inspired countless students.

Beyond his military service, Jack was known for his vibrant personality and diverse interests. He enjoyed playing a round of golf and occasional motorcycle rides on his Harley Davidson. Active in his community, Jack was a proud member of the Lion's Club, Dedallions, and the Knights of Columbus.

However, Jack's greatest joy came from spending time with his family and friends. He was cherished for his infectious laughter, excellent dance moves, and his knack for sharing humorous stories. Jack's genuine kindness and mentorship touched the lives of many, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

In addition to his wife, children, and step-daughter, Jack is survived by his brother, Allen Morris (Cheryl), and sister, Lonna Rives (Tony), Nephews Charlie Morris, Jason, Chad and Greg Rives, and Niece Stephanie along with their respective families.

Jack's legacy of service, laughter, and love will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be dearly missed and remembered fondly.
