John Michael Molnar

John Michael Molnar, affectionately known as Johnny Vegas, age 72 of Dayton, passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2022. He was born August 28, 1950 in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of the late John and Florence Molnar.

John was an avid Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians, University of Dayton Basketball and Ohio State fan. He graduated from Brooklyn Heights High School, where he was a track and field long distance runner who achieved hall of fame status and currently holds several records. He worked in the lumber business since he was 18 years old and was in the Presidents Club at Carter Lumber. He also enjoyed karaoke. He will be remembered for his excellent cooking skills, quoting movies and his sense of humor.

John is survived by his son, Marc (Christina) Molnar; fiancé, Judy Showalter and her children, Liz (Scott) Lambdin, Jesse (Wendy) Showalter & Frank Showalter; grandchildren, Audrey, Matthew, Jeffrey & Charlie; sister, Susan (Don) Ehlert and nieces and nephew, Donna, Tracy and Michael.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 29, 2022 from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm with a service to follow at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432).
