John "Johnny" Miller, age 85 of Dayton, went to Heaven early Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at The Hospice of Dayton. Johnny is survived by his wife of 57 years, Irene Miller; sons and daughter-in-law: Ronald and Yvonne Hinton of West Carrollton and John Edmondson of Wisconsin; daughters and sons-in-law: Carol and Paul Bernard of West Carrollton, Barbara Hinton of Moraine, Marsha and Rich Roof of Springfield, Debbie and Royce Shirley of Englewood and Karen and Danny O'Meara of Clayton; 20 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren.
John was born October 4, 1927 in Brookville, Ohio and was a Navy Veteran of WWII. He retired from Reick and Mechanical Services after 30 plus years of service. He was an avid golfer even making a hole in one, and also loved bowling. He enjoyed being with family and friends and if he wasn't home you could find him on the golf course or at the bowling alley.
Arrangements are being made for a "Celebration of Life Memorial" for family and friends to be held at a future date. The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff at The Hospice of Dayton who took such good care of him and their family; especially nurses: Connie, Donna and Carrie; and aides: Addy and Connie. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John's memory to The Hospice of Dayton.
