John McSwain Smith, Jr.
Born August 12, 1950 in Dayton to John McSwain, Sr. & Virginia E. (Pietrzak) Smith, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 13, 2006, at the age of 56, at University Medical Center, Columbus. John was preceded in death by his mother Virginia, his sister, Cammie Smith and by his nephew, Matthew Lee Bono. John is survived by his wife, Pat (Humerick) Smith of Vandalia; his father, John McSwain Smith, Sr. of Butler Twp.; daughter, Jill Mosley; grandson, Michael Inskeep who recently joined the Marine Corps.; granddaughter, Jessica Inskeep; three sisters, Elizabeth & Tom Bono (& their children, Gina & Sarah), Sarah & Chuck Hoschouer (& their children, Terri Brady, Craig Hoschouer and Jason VanHoose), Mara & Craig Cochran (& their children, Steve & Joshua Jones, Kevin & Kristen Cochran); one special brother, Joseph Smith; and by his many close friends. John was an avid golfer and an enthusiastic Harley-Davidson motorcycle rider.

The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 – 6:30 p.m., Thursday at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, with funeral services to follow at 6:30 p.m. If friends desire contributions may be made in memory of John to the Wellness Connection of the Miami Valley to aid those with Heart & Cancer related conditions, 1 Elizabeth Place, Suite 110, Dayton, Ohio 45408-9901.
