MCDERMOTT, John Barry, 64, of Brookville passed away unexpectedly Monday October 4, 2010.

He is preceded in death by his parents Fred and Helen McDermott and sister Mary Nell McDermott. Barry is survived by his brothers Richard Glenn and Patrick Houston McDermott as well as many close friends.

He worked for WPAFB for over 40 years, Barry was a Principal Electronic Engineer, Integrated Demonstrations and Applications Laboratory (IDAL) Program Manager. Barry was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the Association of Old Crows (AOC) to which he is a distinguished member and a Senior Member of the Electronic Warfare Science and Technology Community.

Family will receive friends from 2:00-5:00PM Sunday, October 10, 2010 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton Xenia Rd, Beavercreek, Ohio. A Funeral Mass will be held 10:00AM Monday October 11, 2010 at Holy Angels Church, 218 K Street., Dayton, Ohio. Following the ceremony he will be transported to Kentucky for his immediate burial Monday evening at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Paris, KY.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to H.O.P.E Organization (Horse Rescue), 24050 Sprague Rd., Olmsted Falls, Ohio 44138.
