John Everett Lemoult

May 3, 1939 — April 9, 2024

John Everett LeMoult ("Jack") was born on May 3, 1939 in New Rochelle, New York. Jack grew up in a loving home in Larchmont, New York, with his four siblings. He loved spending time with his family and had a particular admiration for his father, Adolph LeMoult, a florist and the president of FTD.
Following high school, Jack was determined to be a priest, and entered the seminary prior to meeting his soon to be wife, Claire LeMoult. Jack left the seminary, became a lawyer and married Claire, but his love of theology never waned and he remained a student of religion for the rest of his life, both reading and writing on the subject.

Jack and Claire lived in New York City during the 1960s and 1970s and had two children, Stephanie and Brendan. Jack had a passion for civil rights and he partnered with the renowned civil rights lawyer Marvin M. Karpatkin to form the law firm Karpatkin, Pollet & LeMoult. His passion for social justice and individual rights led him to join Bobby Kennedy's campaign for President, and while Jack's devastation following Bobby Kennedy's assassination cannot be overstated, he continued his work by becoming an author and writing hundreds of columns on issues that touched on fairness and equality (often in humorous ways). Many of Jacks columns were published by various newspapers in New York, Connecticut and Ohio over the course of 40 years.

Some of Jack's fondest memories included spending time with his family and friends on vacation in Lake George, New York. Jack enjoyed fishing, hiking, swimming and relaxing with his brothers and his family. As an avid reader, Jack loved nothing more than picking up a good book, either on vacation or during his notorious early morning reading sessions. Jack was also an outstanding marathon runner, including running an ultra-marathon (36 miles).

Jack retired from the practice of law in 2000 and moved out to Ohio where he joined his companion, Julie Reed. Jack and Julie enjoyed spending time with Julie's family and friends, traveling, visiting his grandchildren in Switzerland, watching Jeopardy and reading his Kindle.

Jack is survived by his daughter Stephanie Bliss, Stephanie's husband Ron Bliss and their daughters Emily Bliss and Kaylee Bliss, as well as his son Brendan LeMoult, Brendan's wife Shelly LeMoult and their daughters Rebecca LeMoult and Rachel LeMoult.

Following with Jack's wishes, there will be no services held.
