John D. Lamb, known to many as "J.D.", age 80, of Dayton, went home to his Lord & Savior on March 8, 2024.
John was very steadfast in his Faith. He was a pastor for 58 years, and he started New Carlisle Church of God in 1972. He also pastored in Michigan, New York, and retired from Shepherd's Fold Church of God in Kettering. John was also a talented leather craftsman, and made many items, including wallets and detailed purses. He had the best sense of humor and a contagious laugh. He was a very devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be dearly missed.
John was preceded in death by his parents: Blaine & Leona Pettit; brothers: Dar, Mike, and Arv; his grandson, Jonathan; his best friends, Larry H. Morris and Roland Wahl; and numerous family and friends.
Left to live his legacy, his beloved wife, Brenda L. Lamb; daughters, Lori (Randy) Dill and Lisa (Yimmi) Orellana; grandchildren: Zeb (Teresa), Kenzie (Ryan), and Brendalyn (Roberto); great-grandchildren: Carrington, Eliana, Waylon, Ezekiel, and Analia; and numerous half siblings, extended family and friends.
A visitation will be held from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, in Dayton, Ohio. On the following day, March 15, 2024, his funeral service will begin at 1:00pm, officiated by Pastor Leon Collins. Following the service, John will be laid to rest at New Carlisle Cemetery.
