John L. Grant

GRANT, John L. age 85, of Dayton, passed away Saturday, May 24, 2008 at Hospice of Dayton. He was preceded in death by his parents, John M and Ethel Grant; brothers, George and Sherman Grant; and sister, Jewel Lee. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Geraldine (Spurlock) Grant; children, Rondal Gene (Shanda) Grant, Timothy Dean (Rachael) Grant; grandchildren, Sean (Carrie) Grant, Rayna Grant, John Ross Grant, Amanda Grant (Josh Combs); great-grandchildren, Sean Rillo-Grant, T.J. and Shelby Jaques, Joshua Dale Combs Jr., sisters, Bertha Stout and Nola Grant; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He served in World War II, was a 32 Mason, a member of the V.F.W. post 657 and the Moose 73, was a floor and wall installer and in the Carpenters Union. Visitation will be 5-8PM Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd. Funeral services will be held 10:30AM Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Willow View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton 324 Wilmington Ave. Dayton, OH 45420.
