John Kowal

KOWAL, John F., age 75, of Trotwood, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2006. He was born May 17, 1930 in Minto, North Dakota, the son of Mike and Bibianna (Helmoski) Kowal. John retired from Associated Springs Division Barnes Group after 37 years and liked to spend his leisure time fishing and gardening. He served with the United States Air Force during the Korean War, was a member of the UAW Local #1177 and Precious Blood Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jacklyn Kowal; four sons, Francis and wife Kimberly Kowal, David and wife Karen Kowal, Richard and fiance Julie Sollmann, Joseph Kowal; grandchildren, Joan and Thomas Kowal; one sister, Blanche and husband Ardmore Vitulli of St. Paul. He was preceded in death by both parents. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 14, 2006 from 6-8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home (4104 Needmore Rd.). Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, March 15, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at Precious Blood Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Precious Blood Catholic Church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
