John Richard (Jack) Kolb age 74 of Centerville passed away on Saturday October 2, 2010.
He was born on 7-3-36 in Mansfield, Ohio to the late John and Lucile Kolb.
He is survived by his wife Brenda of 54 years, son Tim Kolb (Denise), two daughters Kathleen Graupmann (Brad) and Kay Huber (Ed), six grandchildren and two great grandchildren and brother James H Kolb (Nancy).
Jack was a Mechanical Engineer who was partner for 13 years with Lorenz and Williams, Inc. and retired from Heapy Engineering Company in 1997. He graduated from Ohio University (Athens) with a Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers, Engineers Club, and Association of Energy Engineers. Community service included; Ohio University Alumni, Buckeye Trails Girl Scouts, Oakwood Rotary, The United Way, America Society of Heating Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), Leadership Dayton, past president of Rona Hills Civic Association, Fairmonter's and member of Fairmont Presbyterian Church. Jack was an avid outdoorsman and expressed that interest through his fishing, boating, camping and hunting.
Family will receive friends from 5:00 – 8:00 PM on Wednesday, 6 Oct. with services at 11:00 AM on Thursday, 7 Oct. at Newcomers Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH. Private internment will be held at a later date at David's Cemetery. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the CCU department of Kettering Hospital and the Hospice of Dayton Staff. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Ohio University College of Engineering or Hospice of Dayton, Inc.
