John Holzinger

Holzinger, John Walter (Big John), age 65 died April 29, 2009 at the VA Hospice Facility after a brief illness. John was born December 31, 1943 in Dayton, Ohio and grew up in Old North Dayton. He was honorably discharged from the Army and retired from Flexicore. John is survived by his only son, John; grandson, Jeffrey; Trisha Bowling; brothers, Carl and Paul (Bonnie) Holzinger; Joanne Paesano; niece, Lori Storost and her two daughters, Amanda and Jessica; brother-in-law, Werner Storost; close friends, Penny Jewell and her son, Dustin; and also Larry and Cathy Pitts. John was preceded in death by both parents, Helen and Pat Holzinger and his sister, Irene Storost. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, OH. Interment will follow at Dayton National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12 PM until the time of services. His family requests that donations be made to the funeral home in lieu of flowers.
