John Ross Grant

June 14, 1982 — November 17, 2022

John Ross Grant, 40, passed away peacefully after a hard fought battle with cancer on November 17, 2022. Loving son of Tim and Rachael Grant, cherished brother of Amanda (Josh) Combs and adored uncle of Josh Jr and Kailey. He is also survived by his church family at Cornerstone Baptist Temple.

John was preceded in death by his grandparents John L. and Geraldine Grant and John and Reba Baker as well as his uncle Ronnie Grant.

John was an avid sports fan. All year long you could find him cheering on his favorite teams, Cincinnati Bengals, Cincinnati Reds, Dayton Dragons and The Ohio State Buckeyes. He was a very proud patriot and supported his country and the police. He spent his free time umpiring for youth baseball and soccer as well as volunteering for Five Rivers Metro Parks to help keep America clean. John was described as a huge music fan, his favorite artist being Brantley Gilbert. He also enjoyed rock, country, Christian and just about anything that he could listen to.

Public visitation to be held at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd.) on Tuesday November 29, 2022 at 11:30 am with funeral service at 1:00 pm. John will be laid to rest near family at Willow View Cemetery. Donations in John's memory can be made to Kettering Health Cancer Care (https://ketteringhealth.org/give/)
