John J. Geoghan

John Joseph Geoghan, age 52 of Huber Heights, Ohio, passed away Thursday, November 11, 2021 at Sycamore Hospital. He was born October 2, 1969 in Hauppauge, New York the son of John and Annie Geoghan.

John graduated from Wright State University in Dayton. For many years, John worked at the Dayton Job Corps Center where he unselfishly gave of himself and cared for those he helped. While working there, John forged many friendships and was a respected mentor to many. Growing up, John attended Catholic Schools and currently attended St. Peter Catholic Church in Dayton. John loved music and he played the electric guitar in a band. He also loved fishing, 4-wheeling and riding motorcycle. He was especially proud of his Irish heritage and had a dual citizenship. Above all else, John loved his family and put them first. He loved life and lived it to the fullest. He was an all-around good guy who knew someone everywhere he went. John will be dearly missed by all who knew him and by the many whose lives he has touched.

John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Annie Geoghan; and sister, Carol Coney.

John will be missed by his sister, Debbie (Roger) Sherman; and nieces and nephews, who were like children to him, Roger (Britta) Sherman, Katy Sherman and Joey Sherman; and Amber Coney, Sean Coney and Adam Coney.

Family will receive friends Monday, November 22, 2021 from 2:30 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 3:30 p.m. at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton. Private family burial will take place at a later date at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, New Carlisle, Ohio.
