John Firman Davis

DAVIS, John "Jack" Firman, age 84, of Dayton, passed away Friday, Nov. 16, 2007 at Hospice of Dayton, after a long battle with cancer. He was married to Jewell Davis (Blankenship) who preceded him in death in 1974. He is survived by his four sons, John E. of Detroit, Michigan, Michael E. of Dayton, Robert E. of Pensacola, Florida, and Edward C. of Indianapolis, Indiana, six daughters Mrs. Charles (Barbara) Schierloh of Lima, Mrs. Carl (Karen) Ward, Mrs. Gene (Gail) Knight, Mrs. Frank (Theresa) Harris, Mrs. Ron (Jeannine) Wallace all of Dayton and Mrs. Neil (Gwyn) Adams of Cincinnati. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren and 15 great -grandchildren. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Parish and a former member of Our Lady of Good Hope Parish in Miamisburg. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at St. Anthony Church, 820 Bowen Street, Dayton, followed by interment at Our Lady of Good Hope Cemetery in Miamisburg. Friends may call at Newcomer Funeral Home South Chapel in Kettering, 3940 Kettering Blvd. on Tuesday, November 20, 2007 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice of Dayton especially Fran and Robin. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
