John E. Thompson, Sr.
Age 85, of Dayton, passed away Friday, April 13, 2007.
He was born August 12, 1921 in Douglasville, Georgia to George & Katie (Jones) Thompson.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Beulah A. (Hagan) Thompson, in 2004; one daughter, Adean Thompson; and by several brothers and sisters.
John is survived by five children, Bertha Harris, Floyd Thompson, Martha & her husband, William Jackson, John Jr., and his wife, Franchina Thompson, Lloyd, and his wife, Keborah Thompson; Martha's mother, Bennie Thompson; 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; his sister-in-law, Susie Thompson; and by a host of nieces and nephews, including his special niece, Joyce Robinson.
The family will be receiving friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., Thursday at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. Interment Woodland Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff of Mary-Scott Nursing Home and Hospice of Dayton for the loving care they provided to John.
