John E. Shook Jr.

Shook, John E. Jr., age 71, of West Carrollton, passed away on Thursday, July 5, 2012. John was a United States Air Force Veteran proudly serving from 1961 – 1981. He retired from Emery Worldwide and was a member of Breath of Life Church in West Carrollton.

John is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law: Michelle (Kelly) Hurt and Laura (Jason) Hurst; grandson: Ryan Hurt; and sister: Loretta VanAusdal. He was preceded in death by his wife: Catherine J. Shook and brother: Gene Shook.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, July 9, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home (South Chapel) 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering with Pastor Mike Leatherberry officiating. Interment will follow the service at Evergreen Cemetery in West Carrollton. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 1:00 – 3:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association in memory of John.
