John E. Lyle
John E. Lyle, age 85, of Dayton, passed away Sunday, October 24, 2010, at The Hospice of Dayton.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Betty Lyle; parents, Clarence & Helen Lyle; and brother, Thomas Lyle.
John is survived by his 2 daughters, Pam Winters and Sandy (Jim) Schuck; 5 grandchildren, Michael (Amy) Schuck, Leslie Schuck, Bryant Schuck, Nicole Winters and Daniel Winters; 4 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces; nephews; relatives and friends.
He was retired from Delco Moraine in 1989, after 21 years of service. John was a member of Christ Episcopal Church and was a Navy veteran of WWII. He was a member of VFW Post 9927 in Kettering, AM Legion Post 598 and Lodge 58 F.O.P.A.
The family will receive friends Friday, October 29, 2010 from 9:30-11:00am at Newcomer Funeral Home South Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439). The memorial service will begin at 11:00am, with burial to follow at Beavertown Cemetery. Donations may be made in John's memory to The Hospice of Dayton.
