John Dixon

Dixon, John C. 83, of Dayton, went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 12, 2012. He was an active member of Evangel Church of God for many years. John served Evangel Academy in many capacities over the years. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. Preceded in death by his wife Louetta, of 42 years; his parents, I.D. and Effie Dixon; and by 5 brothers and 3 sisters. Survived by his son, Henry Lee & wife Jeannie Dixon, of Beavercreek; 3 grandchildren, Melissa, Daniel and Laura; 1 step grandchild, Donnie; 4 great grandchildren; 3 step great grandchildren; 2 step great great grandchildren; 1 sister, Nancy Harvey of Cincinnati; 2 brothers, Lee Dixon of Georgia, and Carlen Dixon of Kentucky. Visitation 5-8 Thurs. Nov. 15, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd. Additional visitation 1-3 Sat. Nov. 17 at Engel-Bowling Funeral Home 301 E. Main St, Hazard,KY. With funeral service to follow at 3:00, Pastor David Renfro officiating. Burial in Naphor Cemetery, Hazard, KY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton, or to Evangel Church of God.
