John Patrick Devlin

John Patrick Devlin, age 74, of Centerville, Ohio, passed away on June 21st, 2024. John was born in Providence, Rhode Island on September 19th, 1949 to the late Raymond and Helen Devlin. 

John was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Helen, and his sister Rose. 

He is survived by his son, Ray Devlin and his daughter, Katie Goodey. 

John spent most of his career as a Professional Truck Driver for various companies over the years and retired from Service Concrete in NJ. He was also a member of the McAfee Volunteer Fire Department for many years. He was most known for his time in the Marching Music activity where he volunteered with the Jersey Surf Drum and Bugle Corps, the Raiders Drum and Bugle Corps and the Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps. John was a long time performer with the Hawthorne Caballeros Drum and Bugle Corps in NJ. He also spent many years as a Coordinator with US Bands in NJ and PA. 

John was most known for his big hugs and warm smile for all. He enjoyed volunteering and would often go out of his way to help anyone in need, even complete strangers. 

In lieu of flowers, donations in his name can be made to the Jersey Surf and/or Hawthorne Caballeros Drum and Bugle Corps, both located in New Jersey.
