John "David" Williams, a beloved figure in the Dayton community, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2025, at the age of 71. Born on September 27, 1953, in Dayton, Ohio, David was cherished for his lovable personality and fun-loving spirit.
David led a life filled with passion and joy, finding pleasure in his many hobbies and interests. An avid outdoorsman, he loved fishing, hunting, and riding his motorcycle. David's adventurous spirit was matched only by his desire to help others. He dedicated a significant amount of his time to volunteer efforts, particularly with Meals on Wheels, where he brought meals and companionship to those in need.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, Linda Sue Engle Williams, who was not only the love of his life but also his closest companion through all of life's adventures. He leaves behind his grandchildren, David Robert Williams and Christopher M. Williams, along with his precious great-granddaughter, Olivia Paige. David's legacy continues with his brothers-in-law Todd (Angie) Engle, Trent (Julie) Engle, and David Dovel, as well as his niece April (Davey) Dovel and many nephews, including special nephews Jacob Engle and Hardin Dovel.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Dan and Margie Williams, as well as his son, John David Williams, II. He also mourned the loss of his brother Earl Williams and his sisters Ruth Dovel, Wanda Harney, Betty Hensley, and Sue Richards. Though he is no longer with us, David's spirit will continue to shine through the lives he touched, leaving behind a heartwarming legacy of love and kindness. He will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A service will be held for David at a later date by the family.
