John D. Bates

BATES, John D. "Dave", age 86 of Waynesville passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2006 of natural causes. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helene; son, Aaron; brother, Robert Bates; and brother-in-law, Donald Bird. He is survived by his children: Baron S. Bates and wife Cheri, Sharon "Bumbee" Roddy and her husband James, Karen Johnson and her husband Denny; grandchildren: Tanisha, Baron "Little John", Natasha (Raul) Chavez, Caesare (Dennis) Milburn, Emmanuel (Amanda) Johnson; siblings: Fred (Audrey) Bates, Helen Bird, Howard (Jeanie) Bates; and numerous nieces and nephews. For 68 years, Dave was one of Jehovah's Witnesses, currently attending Centerville Congregation.He was a schoolbus driver for Centerville City Schools for 22 years after having been a butcher/meat buyer for SuperValu Stores for 23 years. Visitation will be 5-7:00PM Friday, May 5th at the Newcomer Funeral Home (3940 Kettering Blvd.). At 7:00PM you are invited to share your memories of Dave with those assembled.
