John Lee Cross, age 70 of Riverside, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2018. He was born July 4, 1948 in LaFollette, Tennessee to the late Eli and Mamie Cross.
John was an avid sports enthusiast. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, baseball, softball and football. In his younger years, he coached Little League Baseball.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his grandson, Kain Griffith and brother, Michael Cross. He had an amazing sense of humor and was very passionate about the things and people he loved- especially his grandkids.
John will be missed by his loving wife of over 50 years, Sharon "Sherry"; children, John Lee "Boog" (Tracy) Cross, Jr., Jacqueline Lee Cross and Charles (Nicole) Michael Cross; grandchildren, Eli Burton, Jessica (Jon) Pinson, Brittany Griffith, Will Davis, Kain Cross, Kaison Cross; great grandchildren, Riley, Bailey, Brayden and Christopher; three brothers, Joe (Judy) Cross, Tommy (Joyce) Cross and Gary (Rene') Cross; sister-in-law, Arlene "Kriss" Cross; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Family will receive friends Thursday, November 15, from 5-7 p.m. at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, November 16, 2018.
