John C. Goldick

July 22, 1929 — June 26, 2013

John C. Goldick, age 83 passed away peacefully at his home on June 26, 2013. John is preceded in death by his wife Eileen; mother, Anna (Nayrakas) Goldick; father Charles Goldick; brothers, Charles, Felix, and Joseph; sisters, Irene and Anne; and step-son, Robert Tiedemann.

John is survived by his first wife Anita (Good); daughters, Christine (Randy) Hedrick, Cindy (Mike) Goldick-Smith, Deborah (Gary) Pearson; sons, John Goldick, Jr., James Goldick, Joseph Goldick, Jerry "Tiny" (Judy) Goldick of Schertz, TX; step-children, Mary-Ellen Tiedemann of NC, Michael Tiedemann, Karl Tiedemann; 22 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren with two on the way; 8 step-grandchildren; and many other loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

John proudly served the United States in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was honored to have received the Silver Star, Purple Heart, Sharp Shooter Badge, and many others for his service. He also was a green beret. He was a lifelong member of the VFW and American Legion. After his service he worked and retired as a master plumber.

John returned to Dayton in May 2011 after living in New Hampshire and North Carolina for many years.
