BROOKS, Jr., John, 82, of Miamisburg, passed away Thursday, March 25, 2010 at Miami Valley Hospital. John was born July 8, 1927 in Elk Valley, TN. He was a U.S. Navy veteran from 1945 – 1949 and a 1982 retiree of Delco Moraine. John is survived by his wife of 60 years, Zola; sons, Johnny & Peggy Brooks of Kingston, GA, Jim & Darla Brooks of Farmersville; grandchildren, Michelle Brooks of Moraine, Chance Brooks of Knoxville, TN, John & Candi Brooks of Calhoun, GA, Zach Brooks of Kingston, GA, Sunshine & Nathan Harden of Miamisburg; step-grandchildren, Shonda McKinney Short of Dayton, Autumn Wilson of Frankfort, KY; great grandchildren, Michael & Wesley Robertson of Moraine, Hannah & Bailey Brooks of Marietta, GA; sister, Becky Wilson of Medway, OH, and a host of nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Miami Valley Hospital and his nurse, Leigh Ann. Family will receive friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 29, 2010 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at the funeral home. Pastor Travis Hudson of Moraine Heights Baptist Church, where John was a member, will be officiating. Burial will follow at Miami Valley Memory Gardens.
