John Edward Britt

John Edward Britt, age 84 of Huber Heights, passed away September 6, 2018. He was born November 21, 1933 in Parkersburg, WV. John was preceded in death by his father, Thomas E. Britt; mother, Gladys Britt Hamilton; wife, Nancy Britt; and brother, Billy Ray Britt.

John is survived by his children: Jeanette Marie Britt, David John Britt (Stephanie), Barbara Ellen Summers (Paul) and Brian Thomas Britt (Kelley); grandchildren: Brandi Abrahamson, Jacob Britt, Jordan Britt, Mariah Berry, Miranda Berry, Mark Summers, Hannah Summers, Faith Britt and Kara Britt; great-grandchildren: Johnathan Berry, Laila Britt, Laura Britt, Arianna Abrahamson, Josie Britt, Logan Britt, Brantley Abrahamson, Kaiden Abrahamson and Alexander Berry; sister, Joan Black (Ronald); brother, Thomas Kyer (James); special aunt, Josephine; many other relatives and friends.

John graduated from Marshall University and University of Dayton. He was a charter member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church since 1959. John served as a financial secretary, sang in and directed the choir at Aldersgate, was a soloist at Westminster Presbyterian Church for 30 years, was in the Dayton Opera Chorus and Fanatics. He sang in numerous churches in the Dayton area, including the Jewish Temple.

Visitation will be held from 5-6 pm on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 5464 Old Troy Pike, Huber Heights, where a memorial service will begin at 6:00 pm. Pastor Rick Nance officiating. Arrangements entrusted to Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road. Contributions may be made in John's memory to Aldersgate United Methodist Church.
