John Brickey

John Brickey, age 86 of Xenia, passed away Friday, April 30, 2021 peacefully at home. He was born February 9, 1935 in Sandy Hook, Kentucky the son of Samuel and Grace Brickey.
Johnie enjoyed playing and singing country and bluegrass music. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He retired from General Motors after 32 years. He enjoyed spending his time in the garden and with his family. Johnie was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Ruth Brickey, Alma Peyton & Elsie Brickey.
John is survived by his wife of 62 years, Margie; children, Timothy (Concetta) Brickey & Sherry (David Todd) Brickey; grandchild, Amy (Janielle) Czubak; step-grandchildren, Steven Trams & Patricia Trams; step-great grandchild, Layne Michael Brickey; siblings, Alva Ison, Autie Bazil (Ava Ruth) Brickey, Bernice Hutchinson & Bill (Jeanette) Brickey and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held Wednesday May 5th from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Waddell-Whitt Funeral Home (32 Kentucky Avenue #7, Sandy Hook, Kentucky 41171). A funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm. Burial will take place at Elliott County Memory Gardens with military honors immediately following the service.
