John Robert Bretelson, age 58, of Dayton, passed away on March 12, 2024. He was born in Dayton, Ohio, on September 3, 1965, the son of the late Wilbur and Joanna Bretelson.
He was preceded in death by parents; his beloved wife, Rosemary Bretelson; and his sister, Julie Bretelson.
John is survived by his loving brothers, Steven R. (Cynthia) Bretelson, Douglas P. (Janice) Bretelson and Patrick M. (Pamela) Bretelson; those he loved as his daughters, Sierra, Brianna and Ashley Gorby; nieces and nephews, Christopher (Kelly), Michael (Emily), Timothy (Shelby), Kasey (Timothy) Davis, Kelly (Peter) Ridgeway, Briana, Kelsey (Andrew), and Makenzie; and many other loving family and friends.
John was a graduate of Stebbins High School, Class of 1984. He worked for 30 years with General Motors, beginning on January 19, 1994, most recently with the DMAX Division. He was very grateful for his career, which he owed to his father's influence. In his free time, he liked cars, was an avid animal lover, followed NASCAR, cheered on his Cincinnati Bengals and bike riding. John had a heart of gold and was always there for those he loved. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held from 1:00pm-3:00pm, on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, where John's Memorial Service will begin at 3:00pm.
