John Bailey, age 77 of Dayton, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2014. He was born December 12, 1936 in Chattanooga, TN to the late Ida McGuire. John was preceded in death by his sister, Rosa Brooks and niece, Debra M. Winkle.
He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Kay Bailey; daughters, Savonda Roberson, Tina Martin and Johnetta Bailey-Ivory; son, John Bryan Bailey; 5 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brother & sister-in-law, David & Wanda Shinn; niece, Carolyn Shinn; longtime friends, David & Pat Day and June Collier.
John served his country in the U.S. Army from 1955-1958. He worked at the Dayton VA Medical Center, retiring in 2005. John loved to fish, camp and work on cars.
