John Arnold Angel, age 52, of Maineville, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 27th, 2025, at his home.
John was born on August 15th, 1972, to the most adoring parents, Mary and Gene Angel of Xenia, Ohio. He is also survived by his wife, Kristina and children, Oliver, Amelie and Annika and his cherished siblings, Gene Angel, Anna Carrera and Joseph Angel.
John grew up in Cincinnati and Xenia in a loving and supportive home and was a scientist and explorer at heart. He held a degree from Wright State University in Biology and worked at Cardinal Health and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital before becoming a full-time dad in 2015.
John met his wife, Kristina Angel (nee Wolf) under quite unlikely circumstances in the summer of 2004, and they got married on December 18th, 2007 on a snowy day at city hall in Munich, Germany. John and Kristina’s unique personalities always kept their relationship interesting as they complemented each other in the best of ways. They valued their differences, and, above all, shared a deep love. After spending almost 2 years in Germany, John and Kristina returned to Ohio and eventually settled in Maineville, where they created a home and welcomed their amazing twins, Oliver and Amelie in 2015 and the perfect little sister, Annika in 2017.
John was loved by many, but by none more than his three children, his wife, Kristina, parents, Mary and Gene, siblings, Gene, Anna and brother-in-law, Dustin Booher, Joseph and sister-in-law, April Angel, his nieces and nephews, and a large, extended family, consisting of many aunts, uncles, and countless cousins and friends.
John’s children, Oliver, Amelie and Annika, were his pride and joy, and he cared for them as a stay-at-home dad in the most loving and thoughtful way. While John had many wonderful qualities, nothing stood out more than his role as an adventurous, funny, and gentle father, and our children will unanimously tell you that he was their absolute favorite. John took them on many adventures and tailored his parenting to their personalities. Their relationship was marked by pure love. He shared a fondness for King’s Island, maps, computers and board games with Oliver; shared Amelie’s love of food (especially the spicy kind) and understood her quiet but perceptive personality; and played the funniest and sometimes borderline cockamamie figurine games with sidekick Annika before bed. He lit up their world.
John was also incredibly knowledgeable, in a large variety and range of subjects, and was a humorous and fascinating person to talk to. He adored his three cats and dog Piper.
John was loved deeply, and his loss will be felt forever.
