John A. Keaton, Jr. passed away on Feb 2, 2014 at the age of 91.
He is survived by his wife of almost seventy years, Shirley (Stackman) Keaton; seven children, Patricia (John) Dintaman, Shirley Schulz, Judy (Timothy) Walsh, John (Nilsa) Keaton, Mary (Dale) Bruggeman, Theresa (Tony) Dollahite and Joseph Keaton; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Rosemary Atkin; brother-in-law, Robert (Pat) Stackman; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Matilda (Huber) Keaton; sister, Matilda Keaton; son-in-law, Gene Schulz; daughter-in-law, Pamela (Gifford) Keaton and a grandson, Thomas Guffy.
John was a 1940 Chaminade graduate, a World War II US Navy Veteran, employed at NCR for 43 years and a lifetime member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.
His long marriage and life have been a great example for all of us. The family would like to thank Dr. David Page, his staff and Liberty Nursing Center for their care and support.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM Thursday, February 6, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 AM Friday, February 7, 2014 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 411 E. 2nd St., Dayton, OH 45402, followed by a committal service at the Dayton National Cemetery.
