Joel Bruce Garrison was a man whose life was filled with dedication, love, and adventure. He was born on December 31, 1941, in Coffee, Tennessee, and sadly departed from this world on May 28, 2024.
Joel's journey was one of honor and service as he dedicated a part of his life to the United Army. Following his military service, he embarked a career at General Motors - Delco Moraine, where he spent over 30 years before retiring.
Outside of his professional life, Joel found joy in various hobbies and interests. He had a passion for fishing and hunting, cherished moments on the golf course, enjoyed riding his Harley with The Brothers, and took part in Toy Runs for hospitals.
In the hearts of those who knew him best, Joel will always be remembered for his kindness, sense of humor, and unwavering loyalty. His presence brought warmth and laughter to all those around him.
Joel is reunited in peace with his parents, Bob & Ruth Cooper. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Brenda Garrison; his children: Shelly Harmer (Michael), Trisha Brown (Jake), Rob Garrison, and Michael Garrison; grandchildren: Amber, Kelsie, Tessa, Alyssa, Caleb (Stephanie), Ayden, Baylin, Jonathan, and Spencer; great-grandson Tucker; as well as numerous other family members and friends.
A Graveside Service to honor and celebrate the remarkable life of Joel Bruce Garrison will be held at 11:00am on June 17, 2024 at Dayton National Cemetery. Please arrive at Newcomer North Dayton Chapel in Dayton, Ohio by 10:00am to join us in procession to the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Joel's memory may be made to The Alzheimer's Association of Dayton or to Hospice of Dayton.
As we bid farewell to Joel in this physical realm, let us hold onto the memories shared together and carry forward the light he brought into our lives. May his spirit continue to guide us with love and strength.
