Joe "Joey" Glenn Wilson, age 50, of Kettering, passed away very unexpectedly at his home on Monday, September 2, 2013.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Wilson; mother, Margie Carroll; and grandparents, Raynard & Ellnora Carroll. Joey is survived by his uncle, Raymond & Carol Carroll; special friends, Barb & Marcus Johnson; Ryan McGee; Scott Childs; numerous cousins; and his assistance dog, Duke. Joe was a veteran of Desert Storm and Desert Shield. He was also a retired detective with the Wilmington Ohio Police Department.
The family will receive friends on Monday, September 16, 2013 from 9-11 am at Newcomer Funeral Home South Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439). A Mass of Christian burial will immediately follow at 12:00 pm at the Day Chapel at St. Charles Borromeo (4500 Ackerman Blvd, Kettering, OH 45429), followed by burial at The Dayton National Cemetery (VA).
Donations may be made in Joe's memory to The Wounded Warriors Project (P.O. Box 758517 Topeka, Kansas 66675).
