Joe Pruitt

January 24, 1931 — May 24, 2024

Joe Pruitt, 93, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 24, 2024. He was a longtime member of Harmony Missionary Baptist Church. He loved playing guitar and singing bluegrass music and gospel hymns. He was constantly known for quoting bible scriptures and talking about God and where he was looking forward to going.

Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Jean of over 71 years; his father, Estel Pruitt and mother, Ida (Gibson) Pruitt; eight brothers, Virgil, Enos, Arthur, Ray, John, Clyde, Glen, and Ralph; and a grandson, Chris Jones.

Joe is survived by two daughters, Deloris (Jerry) Griffith of Pueblo West, CO, and Patsy Pruitt-Jones of Kettering, OH; three grandchildren, Michelle Griffith of Loveland, OH, Shannon (Karmen) Griffith of Bloomfield, CO, Sean (Kelly) Griffith of Castle Rock, CO; and four great grandchildren, Gracyn Griffith and Hudson Griffith of Broomfield, CO, and Ethan Griffith and Keirra Griffith of Castle Rock, CO. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, and brothers-in-law.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2024 from 11 am to 12 pm at Newcomer Centerville Chapel (820 Miamisburg-Centerville Road, Dayton, OH 45459). Funeral service will begin at 12 pm. Burial will follow in Miami Valley Memory Gardens.
