Joanne P. Trecaso

June 24, 1931 — January 5, 2023

Joanne Pauline Trecaso, Age 91, of Kettering, OH, passed away Jan.5, 2023. Joanne was born on June 24, 1931, in Mobile, AL, to Cava Simpson D'Olive and Mitchell Eugene (Versace) Cooke.

Joanne was a graduate of North High, Akron, OH, where she developed life-long friendships and an appreciation for learning and broadening her knowledge, which carried through her entire life, attending night classes at Akron U, while working full-time and taking many other classes throughout her life to better her career and enhance her enjoyment of life. She was an Executive Secretary for various companies and military facilities, retiring, after working 20 years at Harris Graphics.

Joanne was an adventurer and traveler, starting right out of high school with a friend and later throughout her life with her family, going to Yellowstone, a rain forest British Columbia, mountains, beaches, New England and Washington DC, just to name a few. After her children were grown, Joanne traveled through Europe three times, twice with her sister, Dolores, and once with her sister and her mother.
Joanne was an avid reader, and enjoyed playing golf, volleyball, softball, duplicate bridge, doing needlework and sewing, home decorating and landscaping and did beautiful gardening and was planting flowers in her 90's! She also attended classes at UDOLLI with her daughter at age 91!

Joanne enjoyed helping her community, volunteering at Southview Hospital and the Victoria Theatre and was very involved in the PTA and being home room Mom and was Sunday school teacher at her church and she served on many work and school committees. She always encouraged her family in their growth, as well. Joanne had a passion for and loved attending all of her children's and grandchildren's musical performances and sporting events, and not just attending but fervently cheering them on at their games.

Joanne was an inspiration and joy to all who met her. Remembering her beautiful smile, extreme thoughtfulness, her amazing strength and her undying love for her family and friends and her desire to spread kindness to all whom she met, Joanne will continue to be a wonderful example and inspiration to her family, to carry on these values in their own lives.

Joanne is preceded in death by her parents.
