Joanne B. Mantravadi

Joanne Mantravadi, age 83 of Washington Twp., passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2022. She was born November 27, 1938 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late James and Laura Blackston.

Joanne was trained as a registered nurse and worked for a time in that capacity. She also underwent Bible training and particularly enjoyed participating in many Bible study groups over the years. She was an active participant in church life at all the congregations of which she was a part, and she considered her relationship with Jesus Christ the most important aspect of her life. She was devoted in prayer for others and particularly loved spending time with her grandchildren in her later years.

Joanne is survived by her husband of 47 years, Krishnamurthy; children, Samuel (Amy) Mantravadi, Jonathan Mantravadi, Shanta Shellabarger; grandchildren, Liv Shellabarger, Nora Shellabarger, Thomas Mantravadi; as well as numerous family members and friends.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Charles and Richard, and her sisters, Sheryl and Carol.

Visitation will be November 19, 2022 from 9:30 am to 10:00 am at Sovereign Grace Church (1541 S. Smithville Road, Dayton, Ohio 45410). Funeral service will begin at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Miami Valley Memory Gardens.
