Joann Ullmer, age 86, of Dayton, passed away on January 5, 2022. She was born on November 10, 1935 to the late William and Ellarae Ream.
She enjoyed retail therapy, telling stories, and her favorite football teams were Penn State and the Pittsburg Steelers. She was a great cook and made the best white chicken chili. Her house always smelled like the delicious spices she used in her cooking or like one of the many Yankee candles she had. She will be greatly missed by everyone that knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, Joann was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Kenneth Ullmer; her brother, William Ream; two brothers-in-law: Gilbert Ullmer and Ray Ullmer; and nephew, Adam Farrell.
Her memory will be cherished by her two sons: Dale Ullmer and Bart (Terri) Ullmer; six grandchildren: Britney, Kaitlyn, Lindsey, Makylie, Jacob, and Skyler; 11 great-grandchildren: Gavin, Makinley, Aden, Donovan, Adalynn, Zayleigh, Madison, Makenna, Kyson, and Legend; brother-in-law: Mike Farrell; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
A visitation will be held from 4:00pm to 6:00pm on Friday, January 14, 2022 at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, where the funeral service will begin at 6:00pm. She will be laid to rest with her husband, Kenneth, at Medway Cemetery at a later date.
