Joann Denlinger, age 70 of Miamisburg, passed away August 2, 2024 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born November 25, 1953 in Dayton, the daughter of the late Russell and Edith (Roberts) Wilder. In addition to her parents, Joann was preceded in death by her son, Dustin Denlinger and three of her siblings.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Denlinger; children, Daniel (Jeannie) Hurst, Kimberly (Michael) Croake and David (Joanna) Denlinger; sister, Linda Hammonds; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
Joann loved playing multiple instruments and singing. She owed her own bar and restaurant. Joann was lead singer and founder of the band called Wood & Steel. She grew up in Booneville, Ky, Franklin, OH and Dayton, OH. Joann was extremely proud of her culinary skills at some fine dining establishments in California. She was always lending a helping hand to families that were having hard times and providing sound advice. Joann hosted multiple benefit rides for families that had lost a love one. She was dearly loved by many people. Joann’s vacation spot was at the Dayton KOA and Great Wolf Lodge. Attending the local festivals and fairs was always on the to do list.
Funeral service will be held at 12 PM on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Kettering Chapel. Visitation will begin prior to service at 10 AM. Joann will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery in West Carrollton.
