Joann E. Barr, age 74, of Kettering, passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2017.

Joann's larger than life unique presence will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was born in Dayton, on August 5, 1943 to the late Max & Estella Lee. Joann was preceded in death by her husband, Harry A. Barr and her only sister, Maxine L. Shindlebower.

She is survived by her children, Elizabeth J. (Lazaro) Perdigon, Joelle Morrison, Cassandra (Alfredo) Perez and Harold (Jennifer) Morrison; loving companion, John Herron; grandchildren, Danny and Kristina Perdigon, Alfredo, Alex, Antonio, Adam, Andrew and Mary Perez, Maddie, Connor and McKenzie Morrison; great-grandchildren, Natalie Perdigon, Faith and Noah Isaac; niece, April (David) Brown; nephews, Wade (Laura) Shindlebower and Eddie Shindlebower; and many other family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 7, 2017 from 1:00-2:15 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home South Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439). A graveside service will immediately follow at Miami Valley Memory Gardens, where Joann will be laid to rest.

Donations may be made in Joann's memory to the Humane Society of Greater Dayton or charity of your choice.
