Joan "Joanie" Gillaugh - Age 92, passed away on July 30. 2024. Joanie was born on January 29, 1932 to the late Eulalia and Edward J. Ruckgaber. She was preceded in death by her husband R.D. Pete Gillaugh and her sister Carol Edward} Morris of Sacramento Ca. Joanie is survived by her son Michael {Melanie } Gillaugh, daughter Laurie Gillaugh and daughter Julie {Doug} Wright. In addition, Joanie leaves six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Also, Joanie is survived by a brother Gary {Suzanne} Ruckgaber of Tulsa OK. 

Joanie graduated from Fairmont High School in 1950 and the Miami Valley Hospital School of Nursing in 1953. She married Pete on November 22, 1952 and after graduating from nursing school joined Pete during his two year tour in the U.S. Army. During the two year tour they lived in Lawton, OK and Karlsruhe, Germany. Early in marital life, despite a medical background Joanie realized her calling was as a homemaker and helpmate as Pete pursued a career in the financial arena. After the birth of her son Joanie learned she could not give birth to another child. As a result she and Pete adopted two precious little girls. With what she felt as a completion of an immediate family Joanie threw herself into her calling; As a cook, baker, painter {inside and outside}, wallpaper hanger, sewer, knitter, and, best of all, wife and mother. Joanie had few peers. She is deeply missed by all with whom she had such a profound effect.

Services are being held Private. Joanie is being laid to rest with her husband at David's Cemetery.
