Joan Reynolds

Joan Reynolds, age 91 of Dayton, passed away Thursday, October 24, 2024 at Spring Hills Singing Woods Nursing Home. She was born May 6, 1933 in Pine Top, Kentucky the daughter of Farris and Mary Slone.

Joan was a devout member of House of Prayer Church of Old Regular Baptist for 56 years. She was a homemaker who gardened, baked and cared for her family with pride. She was a gifted quilter who sewed everything by hand. She will be remembered for her giving spirit; always willing to help others in need. 

She is preceded in death by her father, Farris Slone, mother, Mary Elizabeth Slone; husband of 56 years, Paul Reynolds; siblings, Lola, Golda, Dallas, Verlin, Ollis, Ivan, Berta Inez, Johnie Keith, Carnell, Opal Elizabeth, Mildred Jean, Velma, Dalna and Stanford; daughter-in-law, Frances and great granddaughter, Norah Grace.

Joan is survived by her two sons, Gary W. Reynolds, Jeffrey R. (Sandra) Reynolds; two daughters, Debra K. Reynolds, Marlene F. (Randy) King; grandchildren, Dennis (Laney), Rachel (Chad), Jessica (Connor) and Mackenzie; great grandchildren, Meghan, Gwendolyn, Alivia, Ellowyn, Maislyn, Savannah and Knox and sisters-in-law, Betty Miller, Judy Reynolds and Sadie Reynolds.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 30, 2024 from 9:30 am to 11:00 am with a service at 11:00 am at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432). Joan will be laid to rest at Valley View Memorial Gardens following the service.
