Joan R. Lipps, age 82 of Beavercreek, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at Village at the Greene. She was born September 7, 1934 in Pennington Gap, Virginia to the late Auxier and Reva Vance.
Joan was a member of the Anchor Baptist Church. She was a supervisor at University of Dayton, Kennedy Union Food Service for over ten years and enjoyed mentoring college students. In her younger years, Joan was a natural athlete who excelled at numerous sports. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed racquetball. She loved to cook and bake; her famous biscuits and gravy and Martha Washington cookies were loved by all. Joan cherished spending time with her family and friends hearing about current happenings and reminiscing about the past. She looked forward to her weekly visits from her brother Gary and his wife, Carol. Joan loved being taken out to eat by her granddaughter, Megan Kay, (especially to Waffle House) and sharing her words of wisdom.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Judy Bulcher and brother, Merle Vance. Joan will be dearly missed by her loving children, Wendell "Bud" Sheets, Jr. (Laura) and Alesia (Rex) Hall; grandchildren, Samuel Paul Bailey, Kira Nicole (Ethan) Little, and Megan Kay Sheets; great-grandson, Kaden James Little; siblings, Gary (Carol) Vance and Maxine Morris and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at 6:00 pm at Newcomer Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432, Pastor Mike Elliot, officiating.
