JARRETT, Joan L., 80, of Waynesville passed away peacefully, Thursday, September 14, 2006 at Sycamore Hospital. She was born in Dayton Ohio, October 16, 1925. She came into this world with complications and survived 15 operations as a baby. Her dad always shared this special message "I complained that I had no shoes until I met a man with no feet". This philosophy inspired her, who may have been tiny in statue (4'6") but whose spirit and heart more than made up for her size. Throughout her life the loss of a child, breast cancer, numerous operations, and chronic asthma, and the death of her husband of 56 years, she accepted the trails and tribulations without complaining because of her faith in Jesus Christ and leading by example. She left this world still believing in miracles and never gave up hope. She is preceded in death by her parents Harold and Mildred Klepinger; and beloved husband Howard Jarrett; and son Howard Jr. "Skippy". Joan is survived by her daughters Susan (James) Slankard and Linda (Louis) Hermandez; son Thomas Jarrett, loving fiancé Terri Long; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sister-in-law Marian (Jim) Holland; and numerous other family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral services will be held 1:00PM Tuesdsay, September 19, 2006 at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 3940 Kettering Blvd. Dr. Roger Vester officiating. Family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00PM Monday, September 18, 2006 at the funeral home. Interment will be at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens following services.
