Joan Green, age 78, of Dayton, passed away on February 3, 2024. She was born in Harriman, Tennessee, on September 21, 1945, the daughter of the late John and Rhoda Young.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her siblings, Ruth, Ruby, Jackie, Bea, Ralph, Jess and Tom.
Joan is survived by her beloved husband of 59 years, James L. "Jim" Green; her loving son, Justin (Amanda) Green; granddaughters, Meghan and Ashlynn Green; and many other loving nieces, nephews, family and friends.
She was the Founder of the Church Mice Quilters and was also a member of the Miami Valley Quilt Guild. In her free time, she enjoyed making Quilts of Valor, sewing, crafting, Stampin' Up and knitting. Joan will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held from 10:00am-12:00pm, on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, where a Celebration of her Life will begin at 12:00pm, with her son, Justin, officiating. Burial will follow at Valley View Memorial Gardens, Xenia.
