Joan Louise Farmer Machado, age 73, of Dayton, passed away Monday, February 1, 2021 at Grandview Hospital. She was born December 24, 1947 in Northridge, Ohio the daughter of the late John Farmer and Virgie Farmer Simpson.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by brother, Forest Mark Farmer; sister, Carol Irene Farmer; nephew, Mark Bryant and brother-in-law, James Bryant.
Joan is survived by her son, Travis (Stephanie Koger) Machado; grandchildren, Alyssa, Maria, Donovan, Allison Machado and Maddison Poffenberger; sister, Sherrill Bryant; brother, David Farmer; nephews, Russell and Timothy Farmer; niece, Darla Patterson; great nieces and great nephews, Morgan and Parker Patterson, Jake and Josh Bryant; she is also survived by numerous family and friends.
Joan was a graduate of Northridge High School and was always proud of being a "Polar Bear". She was an Office Manager at Thomas Medics and Temps for many years. Joan also ran her own catering business where she had an artistic talent for making and icing cakes. She like dining out and watching movies. Joan had a beautiful singing voice who recorded her own album. She was a devoted member of Way of the Cross Church where she sang in the choir. She will be sadly missed by her loving family and friends. Joan always forgave those near and dear to her. She was a dedicated and loyal friend to many.
Visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00 PM Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Way of the Cross Church, 612 Beatrice Drive, Dayton, OH 45404, where her funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM. A fellowship gathering at church will take place after her funeral service.
