Joan A. DeJournett, age 86, passed away on February 15, 2015 in Beavercreek, Ohio. She was born to the late McKay and Ella May Bradley on September 19, 1928 in Farmington, Washington. She thoroughly enjoyed being outside, planting flowers and gardening. Joan was a member of the Antioch Shrine Temple Guard Ladies. She met the love of her life Thomas DeJournett in 1943. They were married later that year on Christmas Eve and enjoyed 71 wonderful years of marriage. Together they raised their family and traveled to many places including Morocco. Joan was a dedicated wife, loving mother and friend to many. She is survived by her husband Thomas; four children Thomas C. (Connie) DeJournett, Linda C. (Louis) Kallis, Michael D. DeJournett, Karen K. (Paul) Mahan; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Joan was preceded in death her brother Marshall N. Bradley. A celebration of her life will be on Friday, February 20, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd. Beavercreek, Ohio from 4pm-6pm. A special thanks to her Home Instead Caregivers for their loving care. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital in her memory.
