Joan Eileen Coleman, age 80 of Dayton, passed away Tuesday, February 18th, 2020 at Kettering Medical Center. She was born on March 19th, 1939 in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of Robert Lawrence and Pauline Evelyn Imber.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Edward Frances Imber and sister, Pamela Dolores Detter, and long time companion and friend, Osa Case.
Joan is survived by her children, Joanne Christine Hensley, David Christopher (Sarah) Coleman, Julie Marie Coleman, and Diane Lynn (Andy) Botting, brother, Lawrence James (Sue) Imber, and sister Marie Ann (Rick) Smith. She is survived by six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous family and friends.
She attended Holy Family for Primary and Chaminade Julienne for High School. On February 15th, 1958, she married Edward I. Coleman at Holy Family Catholic Church. She retired from General Motors. She was a member of Kettering Church of Christ. Joan was baptized and accepted Jesus as her loving Savior. She had many brothers and sisters in Christ who loved her. She loved classic country music, animals, and plants, but what she loved the most was her family.
Visitation will be held February 24th, 2020 from 5:30 to 6:30 pm at Newcomer Funeral & Receptions - Beavercreek Chapel (3380 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek, Ohio 45432.)
