The kindest, most generous being, who saw the good in everyone she met has been called by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to take her place in Heaven. Jo Ann (Lewis) Dare, age 61, of Trotwood, Ohio died due to medical complications on January 2, 2024.
She was born in Dayton, Ohio in 1962 to Lucille Lewis (John Nesby, deceased), who loved and cherished her mother. Jo "Page" graduated from Patterson Co-Op High School in 1980. She received a B.S. in 1983 from Urbana College. Page worked at Apex, Cooper, Power Tools for many years. She also worked at the Dayton Public Schools (DPS) for several years. One of her successful accomplishments was developing the "Lottery System" program for DPS. She started her own business in 1995 naming it PLCS Data, LLC; was an independent computer software professional, contracting out her skills as a program analyst for several companies. Until her accident, which left her with spinal injuries on December 24, 2018, Jo "Page" was very active and involved with in every aspect of both her daughter's lives.
Jo "Page" is survived by her children, Khristina Lucille Dare (Fairborn, Ohio) and Khristin Clement Dare (Dayton, Ohio); stepdaughter, Patrice E. Dare Hall (Kingston, Jamaica). She is also survived by her mother, Lucille Lewis; siblings, Dr. Laura Marie (Lewis) Johnson (Dayton, Ohio), Mary Catherine Lewis (Dayton, Ohio), Dwyane Lewis (Alexandria, LA) and her very dear "sister friend," Tonya McLemore (Trotwood, Ohio) who has also been an inseparable confidant since meeting in 1989 while working at Apex Cooper Power Tools; a special niece, Danyelle Lewis (Washington, DC); a host of nephews, and many other dear and close friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Johnnie W. Nesby (1920-1985); brothers, Danny Ray Lewis (1959-2019), Jerry William Lewis (1957-2020) and half-brother, Bruce Nesby (1961-2012) all of Dayton, Ohio.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. on Friday, January 12, 2023 at Newcomer Kettering, 3940 Kettering Blvd. A memorial service with close family and friends will begin at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor David Tackett to officiate.
