Jo Ann C. Emmel, age 81 of Huber Heights, passed away Monday, August 31, 2015. She was born September 29, 1933 in Sumner, IA to the late Albert and Clara (nee Meyer) Volker. In addition to her parents, Jo Ann was preceded in death by her daughter, Janet Emmel; siblings, Norma, Elmer, Melvin and Leota.
She is survived by her loving husband, Donald Emmel; daughter, Jackie (Neil) Stadtmiller; sons, Jeffrey Emmel and Joel (Lisa) Emmel; grandchildren, Jeffery, Joseph, Garret and Morgan; longtime friends, Jim and Janice Tranbarger and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Jo Ann was a longtime employee of United Dairy Farmers in the Dayton area. She loved to travel and achieved her goal of visiting all the states as well as numerous countries. Jo Ann was longtime member of St. Mathews Lutheran Church in Huber Heights.
Family will receive friends from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd. A funeral procession will leave at 11 AM for Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City for a graveside service.
Memorial donations may be made to American Lung Association, in Jo Ann's memory.
