Jimmy Melvin Sisson, age 74 of Kettering, passed away Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Kettering Medical Center. He was born October 18, 1942 in Akron, Ohio, the son of the late Albert Desmond and Katherine Lucille Doble Sisson.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his step-mother, Velmer Louise Sisson; brother, Richard Leroy Sisson; sister, Shirley Iris Taylor.
Jimmy is survived by his sons, David Wayne (Sheila) Sisson Sr., Mark Wade Sisson; three grandsons, David Wayne Sisson Jr. (Caitlin Tully); Brandon Michael Sisson, Alvin Glen Desmond Sisson; granddaughter, Lillian Katherine Sisson; great granddaughter, Riley Anne Sisson; great grandson, Ezra Carl McFual-Sisson; aunt, Nona Mae Barath; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jimmy loved to travel and explore. He also spent hours upon hours researching his family's ancestry. This was truly his passion in life. He took great pride in discovering not only his ancestry, but virtually anyone that he knew. Jimmy was the glue that helped keep the family together and communicating with each other. Jimmy loved to converse with family members and friends and was genuinely concerned with how they were doing. He always offered caring words to those who needed it.
Per Jimmy's wishes, there will be a Celebration of Life on June 17, 2017 in Kettering, OH.
