Jimmy Richards, a cherished member of his community and beloved family man, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2025, at the age of 73. Born on December 1, 1951, Jimmy led a life rich in stories, friendships, and family connections that will forever be remembered by those who were fortunate enough to know him.
A proud veteran, he served in the United States Army, embodying the values of dedication and service throughout his life. His warm demeanor and storytelling ability made him a familiar face wherever he went, as he seemed to know everyone in the community. Jimmy's presence was always welcomed, whether it was on a casual ride or during family gatherings.
One of his greatest passions was riding his Harley, a hobby he enjoyed immensely and which allowed him to connect with fellow motorcycle enthusiasts. His involvement in the bike community as part of the Harley Riders was a source of pride for him, reflecting both his adventurous spirit and love for camaraderie.
Jimmy's family meant everything to him. He is survived by his beloved wife, Donna Richards; his children, Brandy Richards (Dan); grandchildren Kourtney and Kaden; and his great-granddaughter, Lei'Lani, with another great-grandchild on the way. Additionally, he leaves behind step-children Gary Rettig (Patti), Jay Greer, and Candy Askins (Dave); step-grandchildren Nicholas, Kelsey, and Brendan; and step-great-grandchildren Phoenix and Kinsley. His legacy also extends to many more family and friends who will hold his memory close to their hearts.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Christine Richards, as well as his brother, Kent "Peanut" Richards. The void left by Jimmy's passing will be felt deeply by all who knew him.
A Memorial Gathering to celebrate Jimmy's life will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025, from 3:00pm to 4:00pm, followed by a Memorial Service at 4:00pm, at Newcomer North Chapel, located at 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton, OH 45424.
